About Sanctuary House Adoptions, Inc.
Sanctuary House Adoptions, Inc, formerly known as Sanctuary House of Chambersburg, Inc, is a licensed non-profit agency that has been in operation for almost five years. It is located in Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
Sanctuary House works with all types of families, however most people fall within one of three categories:
- individuals wishing to start a family for the first time, - individuals starting over after their biological children are grown, or - individuals wanting to expand their family.
The agency provides personal attention to each person seeking information about adoption. Seeking information, does not mean obligation. Sanctuary House believes individuals are free to make their own decisions based on their current family situation.

Sanctuary House places children mostly from out of state due in part to the fact that it is not a SWAN affiliate. The children range in age from infants to teenagers, singles to siblings with mild to severe challenges. The families come from all accross the state, from Tioga to Bedford counties and those in between.
The agency also works with families who wish to pursue international placements. Sanctuary House is within the Cradle of Hope network, which is located in Silver Springs, Maryland.

Training is provided one-on-one during the course of the home visit for all families that choose to adopt a child. Training continues through placement and beyond finalization of adoption. The agency also holds monthly support group meetings for adults and children, holiday gatherings in December and a family picnic in the summer.
